Reduction of Violence Against Women: Punishable

Curbing Violence Against Women: A Punishable Offense

Respectful Greetings,

Today, I would like to talk about an important and sensitive topic — “Reducing Violence Against Women: Punishable.”

Violence against women is a serious problem in society that poses a major challenge to peace and progress as a whole. This violence not only affects women’s lives but also impacts the entire family and society. Violence against women does not only mean physical harm; it also includes mental, sexual, and emotional abuse. Because of this, women are deprived of dignity, independence, and security.

In Nepal, efforts have been made to reduce violence against women, but concrete steps have yet to be fully implemented. The Constitution clearly guarantees women’s rights and equality. It is essential to bring those involved in violence against women under the scope of law and to ensure strict punishment for such acts.

Ensuring the punishability of violence against women is our legal obligation. For this, a strong legal framework and various initiatives to guarantee women’s safety are necessary. Perpetrators of violence against women must be given strict punishment so that this violence is eradicated from society and women can feel safe.

It is the responsibility of all of us to spread awareness against violence, to protect women’s rights, and to take positive steps in reducing violence. With the combined efforts of the government, society, and every citizen, the campaign to reduce violence against women can be successful.

To give respect and rights to women is to protect human rights. Therefore, violence against women must be considered punishable and unacceptable in society. Let us all work together to build a society where women feel safe, respected, and free.

Thank you.
